Based in Long Beach, California, New Atlantis Comic Collective is a group of independent artists, writers, and producers that aim to change the way that independent media is financed and created. We are carving a path beyond entertainment executives and straight to the consumer by establishing our own original intellectual property through a direct-to-audience business model.

 

Our business offers audience members, who are interested in future installments of our comic book projects, to become investors themselves and be rewarded for their support through the release of new issues for the community as well as one-of-kind opportunities tailored to each individual. Rather than relying on large lump sums of funding from corporate investors with commercial strings attached, the incremental relationship that our creative collaborators build with their collector-audience directly benefits both parties as well as the resulting creative product.

 

Each purchase of a collectible generates a specific amount of votes based on the size of the purchase. For our collector-audience, votes provide an optional unit of feedback directly to our creative team as well as access to special “secret” merchandise and discounts that are not normally offered in our store. This vote system helps us hit the financial goals required to film or animate that specific intellectual property in increments that grow with the success of a project.
